I would expect it to stop but they are pretty quick at making DLA Decisions unlike ESA, although the number of trained DMs has reduced as they are moved over to PIP.

I got my MP's office to enquire about my renewal as the care ends in two weeks. I was informed that it could take 5 or 6 weeks from the date of EMP for a decision to be made.
The EMP was carried out at the end of April so it looks as if my care may stop.

The new award should be backdated until the end of the previous one, so you should not lose out.

The brown envelope arrived on Saturday morning. It was the decision on my DLA renewal. I was awarded high rate Mobility and middle rate Care for day needs. These are both "indefinite"awards. I had been on high Care but I am so relieved to have had a favourable award.

I had emailed my MP's office last week to ask about a decision. I received a reply stating it could take 6 weeks, but DLA would try to make a decision before that.

I looked at the date of the decision and it was the day my MP's office contacted them. This proves my theory of going through my MP to speed things along.

I have asked my MP's office to request a copy of all evidence used in making the decision.A big thanks to all for helping me through this stressful period.

I am glad to hear it was sorted out in your favour, MP's are very good at getting things moving again.

However, I do not think that your MP will be able to request the information related to the Decision, this is personal data and only you can make a request for it, in fact it would be a breach of the Data Protection act for the DWP to supply the information to your MP.

You can request it yourself over the phone, although we recommend you follow it up in writing.

DLA Medical – What forms to ask for?

Glad to hear that you now have your decision and that it was, largely, in your favour. Thanks for letting us know :)
