I am want them to look at the Care component only. Could DLA look at both components and I could end up worse off?
You need to be very careful not to exceed the one month normally allowed for the submission of an MR request to the DWP, even if this means making the request before you have access to the reports used in the making of the Decision. Whilst it is possible for the DWP to accept a late MR request, they are not obliged to and unless an MR is completed you cannot lodge an appeal against the Decision.
I am afraid the DWP and a Tribunal panel are entitled to review both parts of an award so you should make sure that you are comfortable that the mobility component is secure before challenging the Decision.
Please have a look at our PIP MR and Appeal guide for more information the process.

I just thought I would share some tips when dealing with a home visit from HCP. I recently had one such visit for DLA renewal.
I wrote out on an A4 piece of paper the names of my disabilities, the length of time I have had them and all the medication I take including how often I take it.
I was so glad I had done this as the HCP introduced himself then asked me what my problems were,as he said,DLA did not give him this information .
After he read my list he said "Oh,that tallies with what I have"
Always be prepared.

Hi all
I received form DBD 503 from DLA in answer to my request for SoR. One of the reasons for not considering an award for night needs was my medication is not dispensed weekly.
Has anyone ever heard of this before?
My GP issues my meds. normally in a supply of two months at a time,as he says it saves time.

I've not heard of this before, the only thing I can think of is that they are thinking of drugs where they might be concerned about the patient taking to many by accident and as a result they deliberately limit supply, but I am not sure why that would be significantly different from someone taking medication during the day, if they are easily confused.

There has always been rumours that whatever evidence is supplied by the claimant/customer,the decision is always based on the visiting HCP. It makes you wonder why they bother contacting the GP in the first place.

I eventually got the copy of the HCP report who visited me. I have never seen such bad writing on any document, how the DM deciphered it is beyond me.Plonker wrote: Thanks Gordon for your reply. It is an odd thing by a DM to take into account. It is also interesting to note that the DM has decided, that in looking at all the evidence in my claim, they stated, that the DM decided to put most weight on the evidence of the HCP who visited me.

I also noticed someone else's National Insurance number was scored out on some of the pages and mine scribbled in below.
