wrag group appeal

Saw my welfare officer today, the first thing she said was "well done you, they are saying you're not fit for work".
As regards an appeal she is not too sure about, it will be difficult, but she did tell me to submit one and see what happens. My doctor will provide further evidence for me so will submit one and see. If they say they are correct again we will see whether it is worth going to tribunal at that point.
Many thanks for all you help on this site, your brilliant.

I'm not sure whether I could cope with the stess of all this and don't want to go on. I'm not disappointed with the Wrag group its just the effect the WRA an WFI will have on me, the anxiety and stress, would they take this into consideration with these? Sorry another question.

Hi M,
Yes, if you appeal, your ESA award will first undergo an automatic reconsideration by a different DWP DM.
If the decision is not changed in your favour at that stage, you should receive a letter informing you of that, and your appeal will be sent forward to The TS, without you having to instigate it further.
You will then receive your Evidence Pack/Bundle, and await a date for a hearing, which can take many months.
Don't worry, you can cancel your appeal at any stage by informing The TS in writing.
If you do appeal The WRAG award to SG, even though you may be required to take part in WFI's (Which can be deferred or carried out over the phone if the JCP Adviser agrees) you should not be referred to The Works Programme :
Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?

Thanks for the reply, so I wouldn't have to go to the work programme while appealing.
Another questions, sorry, if I decided not to appeal and my doctor's letter stipulated that taking part in WRA would be detrimental to my health would they take this into consideration?
This is the part that scares me about the WRAG, I know how stressed up I will get and that will make things worse, I get like that before I go to see my doctor or specialists and I know them. Stress causes low oxygen, high blood pressure and raised pulse, so I try to stay calm.
Thanks

Hi M,
Although not covered in legislation, we are aware that "Procedurally" JCP Adviser are told not to forward WRAG members who are appealing to get into The SG, to The Work Programme.
WP Providers are only interested in claimants who they can make a "bounty" off, by getting them into work.
It would not be desirable for them to spend time on a WRAG appellant, only then to find that they were placed into The SG, and therefore did not have to comply with any further WP requirements.
Personally, I am not aware of any of our members who have appealed WRAG to SG and been forwarded to The WP.
If you could gain a letter from your G.P., stating that you were unable to attend the JCP for WFI's, etc, this would help.
Your first action on receiving a letter informing you that you have to attend a WFI, would be to contact the JCP Adviser, and inform them that you are appealing, and of your conditions and limitations, they are supposed to take these into account.
