wrag group appeal

The first time I knew that the person who accompanied me was entitled to take notes the examining doctor almost had a heart attack when he saw my husband doing so. He told him he needed to give him a legal statement. he didn't have a copy so we were left for 15 minutes while he went to look for one. Only one other doctor had one so it had to be photocopied.
Two years ago the nurse-assessor didn't remark on the fact that he was taking notes so I told her that she was supposed to give him a legal statement to read. She said: 'Oh! I didn't know that! I haven't been doing this job for very long.'
Today the nurse-assessor read the statement to my husband. It had been added to significantly in four years. Originally it said that he was entitled to take notes but that neither ATOS nor the DWP was entitled to ask for a copy. Today's statement required the assessor to state her name and that, basically, if the notes were used in an appeal or future claim, that they would not be treated as an indisputable record. They must have had too many claimants making successful appeals in the last four years. I will let you know the outcome when I find out.

Mags wrote: Well its the big day tomorrow, feels like groundhog day. I have read through everything time and time again to try and get things to stick but its like reading a new book each time, so I've given up, what will be will be! My son and daughter keep telling me not to worry about it. Will let you know how I get on after I come back from visiting my son, well deserved holiday with hubby.

The assessment hmmm, weird or what, it was not what I expected, did anyone else’s last two hours?

The doctor was very thorough though, will say that. I was suffering from brain fog and fatigued, afternoons are not good for me. When he asked me what my tablets were for, I got confused and couldn’t remember what they were, hubby helped explain and the doctor seemed quite happy to speak to him. He seemed to type for ever, getting everything down. Then we had a little examination, I had to follow coordinating movements which I totally messed up (lost the sequence) and a hearing test which again I messed up, I was absolutely shattered when it had finished.
Anyway glad it’s over will just have to wait and see what happens, will let you know.
