The assessment hmmm, weird or what, it was not what I expected, did anyone else’s last two hours?

The doctor was very thorough though, will say that. I was suffering from brain fog and fatigued, afternoons are not good for me. When he asked me what my tablets were for, I got confused and couldn’t remember what they were, hubby helped explain and the doctor seemed quite happy to speak to him. He seemed to type for ever, getting everything down. Then we had a little examination, I had to follow coordinating movements which I totally messed up (lost the sequence) and a hearing test which again I messed up, I was absolutely shattered when it had finished.

Anyway glad it’s over will just have to wait and see what happens, will let you know.

Hi M,

Glad to hear that the break went well. :)

2 hours is above average for a F2F, generally 30 mins to an hour.

It may be due to the bad audit that ATOS received recently.

Please let us know when you hear on the decision.

Hi bro

We did wonder how that would affect f2f's.

Well the brown envelope came today, hubby opened it for me, and its not bad news, been put in the wrag group. I thought I would fail, so its not too bad, its for 2 years. It also says I should be able to get back into work by then, usual letter. So, I will miraculously grow new brain cells in the next 2 years and be perfect and ready for work, super, I presume the lady from the job centre will tell me how I am going to do this

I think I fit the descriptors for the support group so I have an appointment with my doctor and welfare office next week and will see what they say, I think I should appeal, but I will have to show how I fit the descriptors and that I'm not sure of. How do I prove I am a danger to myself and others?

May I also say that I would have failed altogether had I not been a member of this site, your helpful guides for people in this situation is fantastic and long may it continue. Can only recommend people join, its worth every penny.

Many thanks
Mags

I cannot tell from your previous posts, but if your were transferred from IB then your ESA(CB) payments will be limited to 365 days, after which you will only continue to receive payment if you are also eligible for Income Related ESA.

If you are looking to qualify for the Support Group under Regulation 35 then you need to show that your performing Work Related Activity would pose a danger to your health, the risk to others is usually covered by the claimant being aggressive to others, even violent, or their being liable to act in an inappropriate manner.

There is no clear definition of WRA, but you should refer to meetings, training courses, and voluntary work at the very least.

If you are considering an appeal then I would suggest that you have a look at our ESA Appeal guide

Hi Gordon

Yes I was transferring from IB to ESA and know my payments will stop, but hubby retires in 17 months time so I might be able to get IR ESA?

He will only have the standard pension, he has paid in 48 years but that means nothing, so we will look at that then.

I have started looking at the guides, but its like groundhog day, each time I look I have forgotten what I have read, but I keep plodding on, many thanks for all your help.

I also wondered about therapy, the use of, among other things I have severe sleep apnoea (obstructive and central) and need my thereapy whenever I feel fatigued and tired otherwise I will stop breathing and the APAP helps keep the oxygen levels up, so would they allow me to lie down and use this at one of the meetings if I needed it? I go a bit weird if I dont use this. I have anomic asphiasia too and its like playing pictionary with me when I speak, can't remember words, so that could be interesting too :)

Thanks
Mags
