ESA Face to Face assessment on old ESA50 was created by kat50
I have been given an appointment for a face to face assessment without a new ESA50 being sent to me. I am in the support group for ESA. I wrote to Maximus to ask why this has happened. I received a telephone call from their complaint department to say I was being assessed on the ESA50 I sent in in 2013, but they weren't sure why. After a couple of phone calls to the DWP and Maximus I am still really none the wiser but it seems there may have been an error with my case as my file has been going backwards and forwards between them since 2013 and 'someone' has recently placed me in the WRAG group from the support group and this cannot be done just on paper so they will now have to see me at a face to face because the error cannot just be rectified now its happened.
I was told on the final phone call to the DWP, I was not to send in a new ESA50 and that she would note that she had told me that on my file. At the risk of upsetting them, I sent one in anyway, but have had no time to get a report from my GP and my surgery have told me they doubt they will have time to do it as although my assessment date was changed, my GP was on holiday so didn't look at my request for 2 weeks, so I guess it may go against me not having a GP report.
My conditions have deteriorated the last few weeks because of the stress and I told them that in my letters, I felt it unfair I'm being put through this because no-one seems to know what they're doing and mistakes appear to have been made, they didn't seem too concerned though.
Thought it may help anyone else in my position to know you're not alone, its miserable though.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Kat
Welcome to the forum.
I am going to recommend that you get face to face advice from a trained advisor if you can, your situation is clearly complicated and I do not believe that you been given the correct information by the DWP, which may be important if you are actually placed in the WRAG.
Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

Thank you. I will try and speak to my local CAB today, not always easy though and my F2F is next week. Don't know who else could help me.

Other than the results from the internet search I suggest, you can try any charities that support the conditions that you have, some may provide support to benefit claimants.

I spoke to the CAB. They have given me advice about what to take to the F2F and what to tell them about the errors that have occurred. They suggested I ask for a copy of the communication between the DWP and the CHDA, but when I phoned and asked for it they said I won't need it, the assessor will have it on the computer and just gave me the date of the communication.
The new ESA50 I sent in (despite being told not to) has been looked at but they want a comprehensive report from my GP who has agreed to do it for me over the weekend so I can submit it next week, they will then decide if they want me to still attend the F2F. Its all very uncertain and because someone at the DWP made such a big muck up I have to go through all this.

Hi Kat, I'm in the same position as you and have received a f2f without a new ESA50 being sent to me.
I have started to fill out a PDF ESA50 and I'm not sure where to send it ?, do I send it to Wembley or just take it with me on the day of the assessment.
Thanks.
