Hi Sum

It's quite common for people to find money in their bank account before a decision letter has been sent, especially recently, when there has been so much criticism about the slowness of the Post Office in delivering letters. You will receive a letter.

Letter re 'Claimant Commitment' arrived today.

My mind boggles that it took 40+ mins to fill out text fields with some 'X's and min details of Wc n clmt. Summary Outcome is clmt agrees to report CiC or face sanctions

letter doesn't mention any payments. Explanation still to come i guess ....

And another appt on 28th April with another WC for NsESA.

Hi Sum

The bad news is that payments made in error are now recoverable for NS ESA unlike some instances of official error with the Legacy ESA. They designed NS ESA to have the same rules for recovery as UC.

Well exactly , and rightly so .

I need to know if its genuine before i pass onto clmt. Once its outta my control very difficult to recoup

Update - We recvd a ltr re Ns ESA award.

Payments awarded from 15 Feb 26 - 22 Feb 27 (1 yr) period

I'll have to do some math to check amount is correct. Ltr doesn't provide a breakdown/state what been paid already , just explains the rates that apply to clmt due to age.

My Q's to help understnd things more ....
  1. Should I inform UC about the award ?
  2. Does the NS ESA get reconciled against UC , which makes overall sum unchanged ?
3.There's no mention of SG status. He is already UC/ LCWRA
  3. . Should i query on UCJ ?

TiA Always greatly appreciate your help

Hi Sum

There should be no need to inform UC as the UC Case Manager will have access to the Cis Searchlight IT system which shows the payments.
Yes NS ESA is deducted £ for £ from UC.
When your UC statement is posted to the account it should show the LCWRA element and your NS ESA payment should reflect it.
