Hi,
I am really concerned about what happens to our forms that are sent special delivery. I sent my sons on 23/7/13 and even now the track and trace is showing as progressing through their system! I have called Royal Mail and they have told me they forms are delivered in bulk and therefore the signature covers many. I requested a copy of the list of ours was on and was told it was being emailed to me. Nothing has arrived so no proof having paid £6.95. Now the fear of wondering has it reached Atos or not?! Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do about it to show you sent it. Thanks all.

I had the same problem, the Post office emailed me a copy of the signature, but it never showed up as delivered when I put the number in, so it does get there, but I wonder if its a waste of money but necessary for our peace of mind. :)

Hi jbug,

I had the same problem when I sent forms off for recorded delivery and I think some of our members have had it with special delivery too. As you say, it is a particular nuisance when you have paid the extra money so that you have proof that it was delivered in time.

The good news is that your documentation would be accepted as proof of delivery if it was ever called into question.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi

I had this dilemma a couple of weeks ago, last time I sent my form via recorded delivery but recent problems with the post and the hold ups I experienced made me reluctant to send such an important document that way. I sent mine on 25th July by special delivery and it says it go there on 26th July. Like you though it is a bit vague as it did not show up who signed for it.

As long as you keep your Post Office receipt with the tracking number on it then you have proof you sent it in good faith. The vagaries of the postal system are out of our control. You have proof you sent it and more importantly when you sent it. So if there is any problem Atos will have to chase it up.

I sent something via recorded and it still said it was progressing through the postal system, however the firm concerned said they had received it. I do not think the PO bother updating their delivery confirmation screens.

Thank you for reassurance. Was just a little shocked that even posting it this method is no guarantee of receiving something from Royal Mail other than the receipt! The lady at Royal Mail even asked if it was a DWP form I was requesting info on, without me saying anything! It is all such an enormous scary farce. I am so bemused that our society has come to this! Thank you to all you good people here it gives me hope.

Hiya,

Think the way it is handled via ATOS on collection of the Special delivery/tracking system which we all tend to use so as to prove we have done our bit correctly shows a complete lack of respect to us.
But hey ho that is what we have come to learn from these fabulously wonderfully so brilliantly lovely people from ATOS. !!!!! ;)
