Send your SAR request quickly tomorrow if you can, in my case the DWP did drag there feet. they were very slow to respond
As for WFI`s I phoned the JCA+ advisor, told her I was apealing and explained my condition
they did not contact me again and my appeal took approximately 4 months

One quick question I put in a SAR request and have had nothing back...is this because it is not going to appeal? Can I still ask for evidence even now in support group?

Your SAR is totally independent of the Appeal process and even the Decision process, the DWP have 40 calendar days to respond, so if this has now elapsed you should first contact the DWP to find out what is going on and then if necessary contact the Information Commissioner to make a complaint.
