I went to see the gp, I had spoken to him earlier in the week , phone appn about my daughters anti biopics. I asked at the time if he'd be prepared to do a supportive letter for her dla renewal. He said to bring her in today as he couldn't do it without seeing her, which was fair enough. Today he checked her over but said he couldn't do supportive letter, it was better if I filled the form in and if dwp had any questions he'd anwser the form then!
Tried to explain I was expected to prove everything I was writing to describe her difficulties, but he still didn't feel a letter at this stage was necessary.
I had brought with me a tick checklist as suggested which I'd filled in and i went through with him. He did ask to keep it for his record.

Been dreading seeing him all week as I hate the form, not the doctor.

Bit disillusioned now and unsure what to do next

As your daughter's DLA is being renewed, when she is transferred to PIP will be dependant on what the new award is, if it is an indefinite award then she will not be affected until 2015, however, if it is a fixed term award then she will likely be moved to PIP when it is renewed.

Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly common for GP's to refuse to provide supporting letters and reports for benefit claims, hopefully the DWP will contact them as part of this renewal and their comments will be of assistance.

Good luck

She did spend most of the appointment lying on the floor or hiding under her coat hood

I have letter from her special school describing her needs , and info about the school. Her speech and language therapist who sees her regualrly and is very detailed this week ,as well as two reports from her hospital paediatrician after her last appointment October last year. Do you think this is enough evidence?
I am waiting for a letter from her support worker who has agreed to contribute as someone who knows our daughter well.

I suffer a lot from depression which means I get anxious so I just want. To make this form as clear as I can make it as the thought of an appeal scares me to death.

Remember, this is not about her condition(s), but her Care and Mobility needs, please refer to our DLA Claim guides.
