Hi Tony,

It looks like migration begins at the start of April, but forms will be sent out to claimants in advance of this because you get six weeks to complete and return the forms. The latest claim from the DWP is that they will be sending out forms from 14 March.

In my view, it's not unlikely that this deadline will be put back again and again as they haven't yet properly developed and tested the software necessary for making migration from IB to ESA possible. We could easily be sitting here next year asking the same question. On the Conservative's web site there's a confident projection of their timetable for this and their other aspirations, in my view this belongs more on a Disney site than that of any serious political party :-) Look at what a complete and utter hash government's routinely make of giant IT projects. I can't seee this opne being any different. And as for IDS' schemes, well - they'll need to develop new stuff from scratch for that and we know they aren't good at it. I don't believe a lot of what's suggested will ever happen.

I think it's the appeal system that will grind to a halt, despite the government's plan to cut legal aid for benefits cases. Indeed, with fewer people getting legal advice on their cases, I'd hazard a guess that there will be even more appeals, because people with no chance of winning may well appeal.

At my tribunal yesterday, I noticed that I was one of four cases to be heard. That doesn't seem to be very many?!

I wouldnt kid yourself BB. They will likely start on time, the benefit axeing tyranny has been in the pipeline for years, any delay will be weeks rather than months, if at all
