Hi Blissfulblues

I would still try to cancel the appointment you have for the 28th. I know this is the second one - but I would argue that it was the first one - because you were never sent the form and therefore you should never have been sent that first date. Forget what I said in my previous post - I would try and cancel it now. You asked for four weeks to fill in the form, and they didn't give it to you.

I get it, that they are arguing this has been dragging on for a long time, but I would argue now that you need to speak to the case manager before any assessment. They have told you about the case manager and you need the opportunity to speak to them. Write this all in your journal even if you have to ring Maximus and cancel that appointment. You can also put in a complaint to Maximus that they are not making reasonable adjustments for you.

Are you your husband's carer or is he counted as yours? If you are his carer, you shouldn't even be looking for work, because you don't have to, and you shouldn't be providing fit notes, and you wouldn't be being assessed because you are a carer. Even if you are not being paid carers allowance, that does not stop you being recognised as his carer. If he's in the support group - you can easily argue this.

I know this is horribly stressful for you when you have no support, and I know what its like to have a shortage of energy. I would say contact your MP but I think they have broken for the summer so you won't get much joy there. I know you think they won't have got anything from your GP because he is on holiday, but they often do get information (but not the best)

So what do you need to do next?
1. Try and cancel appointment - using the argument I did with Maximus
2. Write in your journal - and see if you can talk to a case manager earlier.
3. Ask about being a carer for your husband - the information is here on the government website and the fact you don't have to look for work www.gov.uk/government/publications/unive...ormation-for-couples
4. Write an update in your journal when you have spoken to Maximus.

Best of luck

Thank you so much for the response. I have been sleeping on and off all day today and doing really poorly mentally too. And didn't realise till after 14:00 a message was left in my journal saying:

please call 0800 072 0120 to discuss this matter ,
thanks

It's from Dundas. Does this mean we won't be getting a call from a case manager now? And how should I respond? We have been trying to contact CAB again but still can't get anyone to talk to. Am I in trouble if I haven't called today?

My partner and I put down on our migration forms we care for each other because we don't have outside family/friend support. He does far more caring for me but it's having a negative emotional and physical toll on him. Awaiting assessment for possible help in home through social care after partner spoke to local carers centre. My partner only started receiving ADP this year. Unfortunately he hasn't had any contact with GP or services in a long time due to negative experiences so what he was awarded isn't for long and there was no supporting evidence for his mental health He's trying to re-engage but wasn't feeling right on talking about carers element based on the split of caring duties plus the fact we don't know if he'll keep ADP next year anyway. I currently am in receipt of ADP at enhanced level so he could claim carer for me if he wasn't the one getting lcwra.

Hi blissfulblues

From reading your post, the message does not say ring this number today, so no you are not in trouble.

Keep trying to contact your CAB for advice, if you are up to it, give the 0800 a call to see what they want, if you can, record the conversation.
