Hi

On this point 'Remember you can't give the panel any evidence of any deterioration that happened after the MR'

most of the evidence submitted with appeal was filed dated after MR - but they refer to original conditions, not new or deterioation of conditions. The evidence wasn't available/accessible at the time of the PIP claim. its ok to refer to that right ?

Well done! Your persistence paid off - hope you now have a few years of peace. I've followed this from the beginning so I know what a slog it's been - I admire your tenacity.

Thanks Wendy,

Yes its been 14mth journey ...

It was emotional for me. I cried a bit when the Judge asked why there was a gap in making benefit claim. This confused me and made me feel so guilty.

I said son was essentially healthy young man , and working and never claimed benefits before. Except for sciatica and migraine which he pushed through with self pain management and never went to doctor , not even a blood test.

When he had his first seizure at work in May 23, I was virtually bed bound recovering from covid like symptoms. to be honest we were in denial , until his formal diagnosis in Aug 23. It took 3months to digest this life changing diagnosis tbh.

it then took me awhile to get my head around PIP and making a claim. Eventually seeking external agency help bec i couldn't cope with ongoing seizures and associated symptoms. This site was suggested by the agent making his claim bec she was leaving the service. Its been a life saver, especially the community and guides, in keeping my focus and thoughts in check.

Yes , the result vindicates us , ie we are not liars and disability does impact daily living. Also DWP shows the DWP process is flawed, its worth challenging if you can imo.

Gonna use the energy to tackle the next one ..... feel more encouraged
