LCWWRA was created by Mari@1
I have been off work sick for 3 months and want to go back on reduced hours. I will need to apply for Universal Credit to manage but due to health issues I will need to reduce my hours. So I will need to hand in Fit notes stating that I am limited to working hours so that I can be assessed for LCWWRA. I am going to request a flexible work reduction to my hours and if I just work mornings it will be 18 hours 45 minutes a week. I read an old post that said I wouldn’t be eligible for LCWRA if I work more than 16 hours per week. Is this still the case?

Hi Mari@1

The 16 hours per week work rule only applies to ESA and not to UC. So you can work as many hours as you wish if you are in the UC LCWRA group. You will also have been given a UC Work Allowance. However a DWP health assessor may make inferences from your ability to conduct long hours of work.

I haven’t applied for Universal Credit or LCWRA, I plan to once I agree my reduced hours at work. So to be sure, I can work 18 hours 45 when I make a first application?

Hi Mari@1

The problem is you may have to wait several months even a year to be considered for LCWRA following a Work Capabalities Assessment.

Will I be made to look for another job with more hours until LCWRA is assessed and decided?

Hi Mari@1

Depending on your earnings you may be in the Light Touch section of the All Work Requirements Conditionality group.
But as you will be submitting Fit Notes you would not be asked to take on another job anyway.
