If she is part of your claim then she does not need to provide Fit Notes.
Have you considered her claiming ESA(CB), you should not be any worse off by her doing so and she will receive NI Credits that count towards a full State Pension, she will not receive these while on your claim.

Thank you Gordon for all of your help and advise, I telephoned the DWP and they told me that my wife wont need to make a claim due to her being on my claim. Again Gordon thank you, it looks like I might have to telephone them again ....

This is true but she will not receive NI Credits unless she has her own claim and therefore may receive a reduced or even no State Pension as a result.
