Nickname: Fred |
Age: 44 |
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Chronic Sciatica - surgery failed Anxiety & Depression |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I’m not sure, the information provided in media is very unclear |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Personal Care below Waist Dressing below waist Standing/sitting for long periods to cook or do ‘normal tasks’ others do and take for granted. Unable to complete domestic tasks Medication collection - due to anxiety Walking around house or work when in a lot of discomfort and pain Leaving house Gettting in shower Getting in and out car Continence and sanitary care. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: From the information I have seen/heard of it’s possible if loose PIP. This would impact financial wellbeing Unable to afford items I need to buy meaning I’d be reliant on NHS supplies and services Unable to afford appropriate veichle for personal and use for work |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I work, work coach sounds awful and degrading |
Anything else to tell us: I work despite my disability I’ve condensed working hours to enable me to have more days off to recover and rest after working to better my personal life and have quality time with family when pain is lessened I have to work to live, working causes more pain, anxiety, getting out and socialising even for work helps with depression however I’d be worse off financially if I didn’t do this as benefits would mean I’d be in poverty ( I’m not rich I just get by by skin of teeth) If I struggle and just get by by working what about people who are much more worse off than me? Would they have other benefits cut, would they be living with no means of paying for day to day essentials and bills. Would people be forced to work when physically they are not able to. I’m scared for the day my body and mind gives up totally because working in the next 5-10years is unimaginable for me and worries me sick. The government need to take a good look at what they are suggesting. It’s a difficult enough process going through PIP application as it is. It’s a gut rentching experience. The government need to target corruption at all levels in their departments and local councils and services, tax avoidance of wealthy and non compliant others, believe me as an employer in one they’d save an absolute fortune by that I mean billions! |
