Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle to wash and get dressed unaided. I struggle to cook unaided. I struggle to remember to take medication and I struggle with household cleaning tasks |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £290.70. I already struggle finically and this would push me further into poverty. I don’t have any debt, but I will struggle to pay for the help I need to manage my disabilities. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I started work at 16 and worked up until 6 years ago, I am now 48. The medication I take for my illnesses effect me mentally by effecting my memory and my ability to recall certain words, this is on top of the brain fog from Fibromyalgia. I also become very tired and suffer quite badly with fatigue. I am Gastroparesis and suffer with nausea and sickness daily, this causes me extreme anxiety in public spaces. I would not make a reliable employee and I can see no employer wanting someone known to be unreliable working for them. |
Anything else to tell us: I think it’s utterly disgraceful that this government is looking to cut their welfare bill in this way. I understand that there are people who lie to receive benefits, but the majority of us are just normal people trying to survive. Making PIP only available to people who score 4 points on at least one descriptor will undoubtedly stop this benefit for the majority of people and it will only be given to people who basically require 24hr care. |
