Nickname: Babs
Age: 55-58
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health
Main conditions that affect daily living: Severe Depression, Osteoarthritis,
high Blood Pressure, Weak Heart tachycardia, general weakness, Diabetes, Anxiety, brain fog, Incontinence, dizziness along with drowsiness Tinnitus and Insomnia. 3 x facial paralysis
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Not likely
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Informal carer comes and baths me, makes food as my osteoarthritis is on my fingers severe nodules, helps me dress need help with toilet needs to wipe and clean need help shopping cannot go out on own due to balance and falls with weakness
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would loose Lcwra plus my daily living around £700 pm. If I lost this money I would be homeless and suicidal as I would not be able to eat, get medicines or therapy, would not be able to go out as need taxis would be housebound for life, Would not be able to pay bills or rent. Would not be able to pay for my informal care and probably end up in hospital
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: No matter how much work coaches will try to get me into work, if I cannot function from my weakness or symptoms or daily pain, no amount of support will help me. I would not be able to get up, my hands upon moving shake and my osteoarthritis in my hands make them stiff. My legs and body shake with weakness. My voice mumbles from my paralysis my whole body goes into a weakness mode. I have anxiety and depression making me scared of the unknown
Anything else to tell us: Disability is expensive but it’s not a life choice I chose. With the special foods I need, medicines, rent , bills, transport, monthly essentials from incontinence., therapies for my shoulder These cuts would be suicidal as sadly there are 3. Stages of disability for pip.
1st / stage for some people with the right help might be able to work 3rd : stage bedbound will get pip 4 points. Sadly people like me in stage 2 / are neither here or there, as we need daily help with washing toilet needs clothes shopping etc but the assessors through a tough fight just managed to get 2 points how is someone like me going to get 4?? Yet my gp my consultants have said sadly i will not get better due to the different conditions but will have to mange.
