| Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: There is no aspect of my life that is not difficult when dealing with schizophrenia. I’m unable to cook alone due to not being trusted around knives and I can not communicate with others due to the extreme paranoia I experience every day. |
| Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: 5000 a year. This will be catastrophic for me I will loose all sense of independence. My mom is my only carer and as she gets older I’m aware that once she is gone I will be all alone. |
| Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: People don’t want schizophrenics near them never mind in the workforce. Company’s may not be able to fire people for mental health but if because of a persons mental health is interfering with their ability to work they will just find another reason to get rid of them. The government investing money into getting people into work will not change the prejudices people hold against people with Schizophrenia. |
| Anything else to tell us: I feel suicidal at the prospect of these changes and my symptoms are worsening but I can’t kick the feeling that this is what the government want, I can’t cost them any more money if I am dead. |
