Chronic Fatigue syndrome DLA was created by Karen123
I have suffered from CFS for over 7 years, and have applied a few times for DLA with negative results. My recent application has yet again resulted in failure for both care and mobility components. I don,t know whether to appeal because I do not have any further evidence to put forward. I depend on my husband and family for help and support and now very rarely attend my GP, even although I fall quite often I have no proof of this can anyone help

try and make the effort to see your doctor more often, he will write down and document your visits. even if he cant do much it wont do any harm... join a forum for CF and see if anyone can give you a name of a specilist in your area your gp could send you to and ask your dr to send you this way you build up evidence to support your postion, also if there is alocal self help group they might be able to point you in the right direction

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I also suffer from ME/CFS and its effects are often underestimated if not ignored by many in the medical community.
Have you used the guides in the members section, they cover both applying for DLA and appealing a decision?
It's not easy but I believe there are people here who have won a DLA award for the illness.

Also keep clear of complimentary health centers, as any letters they write tend to be not taken seriously.
Try and gt as many letters as you can from people who know you well describing how you condition affect you, and also how it affects them.
If you can afford to go for a one off private consultation with a recommended specialist do so, even if the specialist is on the other side of the country.
It could be a worthwhile investment and should be just a one off cost as any letter he/she writes will put you in good stead as evidence for years to come.
Also with a private consultation you get up to a hour to explain everything.
