IB renewal

Hi there

I was sent the dreaded IB50 form last week, as my Incapacity Benefit is due for review, (actually was due last December, so I was lucky for a few extra months).

Looks like I'm not being assessed for ESA yet, otherwise I would have been sent the form for that instead?

Does anyone know if things will be different this time? Will the rules of ESA apply to me, even though it looks like I'm being reviewed for IB?

Will I automatically be called for a medical for instance (only had one medical and that was years ago).

Is it possible I will be called for the 6 job centre interviews etc?

Or will none of the ESA rules apply to me, as long as I'm on Incapacity Benefit (that's if I get it this time of course!)?

Hi,

As it currently stands, you should be dealt with under the 'old' Incapacity Benefit regulations and may be called for a PCA medical (unless exempt).

The pilot for ESA migration does not start until October this year, with migration in main starting next year.

As to when you personally (and everyone else) will be migrated across (and how it will happen in practice) is currently anyones guess.
