esa reassessment was created by bigtruffler
i was a true esa pioneer having been in the system since the first few days. i had my atos medical and was put in the support group - the doctor didnt even examine me just asked a few questions.
since then i have gone on to be awarded dla highest for both care and mobility and as i live alone i also get the severe disability premium
I have just received another esa 50 through the post and am very concerned as to what will happen to me next
will i have to have more medicals etc and what are the implications for my dla and severe disablement allowance if things go wrong
ps first post - subscribed today
thanks

What will happen as a result of you receiving and returning the ESA50 is anybody's guess?
Unfortunately, ESA claimants placed in the support group are not necessarily in that group indefinitely, and can be subject to further review just like any other ESA claimant.
It may be the case that when you return the ESA50 on the basis of all the available evidence you will remain in that group without having to attend for a medical assessment. However, on the other hand you may face a medical assessment and either remain in the support group, be transferred to the work-related activity group, or lose ESA entitlement altogether.
The result of any WCA will very much depend on the totality of the medical evidence, but more importantly, the opinion of the disability analyst. Hence nobody can possibly predict the eventual outcome of your medical assessment.
Insofar as your entitlement to DLA is concerned, both DLA and ESA medical assessment reports can be cross-referred to decide entitlement to both allowances, but in the case of DLA, awards are based on your care/mobility needs whereas ESA is based on your capability for work. Much will depend on what is contained in any given report, but again it is difficult to predict the potential outcome, as every individuals illness/disability is different.

Hi
Like you I was a pioneer" of the ESA system, after the WCA i was told I wan't entitled to ESA (the usual!), went to tribunal and I was put into the support group (I have MS).
I was informed by the local BDC that I was to have a "review" in February of this year, one year after my original medical due to the examining doctor saying that I will need to be reviewed again then. I have been expecting an ESA50 to lond on my doormat any day as I should have received it bby now. I have a medical report from my MS nurse saying what is wrong with me, so fingers crossed I dont have to go to another medical!
