Income Support / Pension Credit. was created by mariebach
Hi All.
I wonder if anyone can answer this querie. My (Male) friend is 60 at the beginning of June.He has been on Income Support for about 15-20 years due to his severe condition of Ataxia.
He has received a letter from the DWP stating that his IS is to stop and that he should apply for Pension Credits. I have visited the DWP website for him and the information says that if you are 60 years old on 6th April you can apply for pension credits, if you are 60 after this date you do not claim until 2015.
My question is : Has this letter been sent out in error, or am I reading the website wrong.
I am trying to help him with this problem, as he has trouble with speech and with mobility.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
