HI. while getting stuff together for a benefit claim, i found that i might not have told the dwp about vol work i'd started some years ago. it must be noted though that although i was on the books of the RNIB and IT can help, i got no work for years and years. what are the ramifications of this if I tell them now? it was an oversight on my part. i will tell them, i just wish to know if i'm gonna get the book thrown at me. thanks. these two orgs are charities btw.
Although claimants of social security benefits are obliged to obtain permission from the DWP before starting voluntary work, especially if they are receiving sickness/disability benefits, there is nothing to stop you from informing the DWP now that you are doing voluntary work as it is better late than never, than not at all.
There are some guides that deal with voluntary work while claiming benefits, which are available in the work resources section.

hi, i have informed them by letter today, though i made nothing from the vol work, indeed, i got no vol work from the two orgs that i forgot to inform them of. hmm, now i have another issue with claim of income support, but will post about that in another post, and that's spacifically blindness related, as i am blind. i will blog about that right now.
I am sorry, I should have realised you were blind from your original post before referring you to the work resources section guides.
