ChatGPT

Are you seeing more people using ChatGPT to fill PIP forms out? Do you know if PIP assessors are against it? I don't see how it can go against us as long as we put our own personal difficulties and real life situations into ChatGPT.

What I'm finding is it's helping me understand exactly what they want to know in each question, and that stops me adding too much, causing cross over adding information that belongs in another section, or under another question on the form.

It's showing me I definitely wrote more than I needed to in past forms because I was overloading on my answers (out of anxiety and worry) and putting way too much in my answers and info as I said wasn't relevant, because they do word the questions in a way that's always confused me.

So in the past, I've thrown everything at them pretty much when answering every question, repeating myself a lot all the way through the form.

Also pages of hand written text, I'm convinced no assessor would have read, and I don't blame them.

Having it typed out makes it all easier to read, so I'm hoping the assessor isn't overwhelmed at the sight of it, reads it all, looks at my evidence, and for one doesn't call me in for a F2F assessment, or make me do a phone assessment, as I've done enough with a progressive illness.

If they don't like AI I don't how they'd tell the way I have done it adding my own personal information and not just letting ChatGPT pull the answers from the internet.

It's just making sure the language and consistency they like to see is used and I like to see. as after every answer it's telling me why my problems are consistent with what a PIP assessor would expect to see in someone my age with this illness.

I highly recommend ChatGPT just make sure before you let it word the answer for you that you list you problems and give real life examples of your problems.

You'll then get a unique answer to your life experiences with your disability, worded correctly, with less emotional fluff we tend to put when all they want to know is how we cope on a daily basis, in all the situations they put.

I'd dread to think people use ChatGPT and let it answer the questions for them.

I'm pretty sure the assessors would frown upon that.

I see ChatGPT as an aid.

What is ChatGPT please and I have no idea what AI is either.

Another plus is ChatGPT understands the latest PIP review form and exactly what they want to know for each section and each question.

I suppose, the more people use it, for these forms, the better ChatGPT will get at helping people fill forms out.

All the symptoms of out illnesses and conditions caused by disabilities are already on the internet in forums.

Reddit which Google bought into to teach it's AI systems has subreddits on every disability and illness under the sun, so 1000's of people worldwide, talking about their difficulties.

It's definitely better than struggling on your own, and it knows the legal language for these forms, assessors want to see.

For example, safely, reliably, repeatedly, without risk, etc etc etc

It's taken some stress out of filling the form out for me, and moving to typing in Google Docs (rather than hand writing all answers which used to take me weeks because of fatigue) has been so much easier, and makes my answers easier to read.

So basically ChatGPT is helping answer the questions correctly, guiding me and telling me how consistent my answers are, and typing into Google docs is easier than writing, and neater for assessors to read.

With plenty of paragraph breaks, they'll be able to scan the answers and I'm sure they'll appreciate making their work easier.

They are only human, afterall.
