UC Review extreme difficulties - Help 2 Save

Hi David,

I've asked 3 times since July, and never received anything yet, despite having confirmation messages from DWP staff that they've requested to be sent to me. I had my review, but a manager contacted me first to apologise the way my review was mishandled, and to confirm the assessor had got things wrong,
(and that I was being moved to another assessor) - such as not accepting screenshots. My review was fine but intrusive, such as paypal spending, ebay spending, and Amazon. They literally asked what I'd been buying and selling! It's over with now, but they're conducting these reviews every 4 months now, and asking for 4 months of statements, so basically, everything is being monitored all the time now. I was told this is being done for all 8.3 million claimants, as per government to crack down on fraud.
The joys!

Chris.

I think they lied to you Chris. I'd love others on UC to come forward here and say if they have really had the same ridiculous level of monitoring - or if I'm right...

Hi Denby,

Well I wouldn't be surprised tbh. Although I had to provide other than my bank statements, what my withdrawals were for, my ebay and Amazon spends and paypal account. I was told that my next review is in June, despite previously having one in June and July 2025, November/December 2025, and then February 2026. I think it's likely to do with the fact that I was awarded backdated pay from LCWRA, but only given 12 months to spend it, which runs out in June. The 2nd assessor though was much better than the 1st. The 1st, made lots of mistakes and told me several lies, to which the manager apologised and said that they'd spoken to her and she needs further training. I literally feel like everything I'm doing now is being scrutinized. Even buying things like5d art, and painting kits for my mental health. It's just nuts. This government has been the worst I've ever seen in my lifetime!

Very dodgy Chris, any claimant should have unfettered discretion on their spending.
