Hi,

This might seem like a really silly question but I want to make sure before doing my Migration to UC.
I get ESA and my husband was added on my ESA so we have a joint claim.
We get the couples SDP and the couples EDP. I get a Carer Premium. We are both in the Support Group but only get one Support Group payment. Is this correct or should we both get a Support Group payment?

Thank you to anyone who can clarify this.

Hi Tigerlily11

You are correct, it is not called Support Group payment, when you apply for UC it is called LCWRA, one of you can also claim the care element, the one who claims the care element cannot claim LCWRA, so who ever claims the LCWRA then their partner needs to claim the care element.

You should initially be no worse off as you should be entitled to Transitional Protection.
