ESA to UC migration + ID interview + Moving Home + PIP Review was created by Ianeif2
I seriously feel like I'm being tested mentally and haven't felt stress like this.
First, I was advised by citizens advice to go ahead with the UC migration then put in change of address once I actually move into my new home.
Obviously, the housing association hand properties over to us with no carpets and needing to be decorated throughout, so this has turned into a nightmare without much help at all.
How do they expect people with disabilities on low incomes to move straight into properties that need fully stripping, painting, decorating--and carpeting throughout?
I'm currently paying two rents because I need to stay where I live now while I very slowly get my new place to a point where I can move in.
So the move is stressful enough.
Now at the same time I've had to do the UC migration that was pretty straight forward until yesterday (after waiting for the ID call) I then get told on the call I have to still go into the jobcenter to prove my ID even though they've got all my details line national insurance number and bank details.
So I've got this interview to prove my ID now which I suspect is nothing to do with ID and more to do with observing us.
This is how they make me think because it just doesn't make sense.
All this on it's own is stress own but now it's got even worse.
Today, a pip review form dropped through my letter box, so now I've got to spend hours trying to fill this pip form in and then probably attend a medical.
It's too much!
I'm struggling to cope with the move and getting all my new place painted and decorated. I'm no where near getting it carpeted.
The move
The UC migration
And now the PIP form
It's all too much.
This PIP review has tipped me over the edge knowing how long it takes to complete and how mentally draining it all is. And then the dread of the medical.
On top of trying to move.
So I have two questions if you don't mind?
1. Can I get in touch with PIP and tell them I'm in no position to fill the form out during such a stressful time?
2. Can I just put "no changes" on all the questions in the PIP form?
I've been on PIP and ESA for over a decade for an illness thats incurable that gets worse with age. And every time I get these forms I spend weeks going over all the problems the illness causes me.
Do I really need to be doing this?
Or, can I just put throughout the form "no change" as someone has just advised me they did this and it resulted in them not even having to have a medical.
I've never not had to have a medical.
Apologies for the rant but this is a lot to have thrown at me all at one.

Hi Ianeif2
I can feel your stress, everything happening at the same time. I had a post similar to yours yesterday.
1) You can contact PIP and ask for an extension, if you kept a copy of your previous claim, use that as a template and make any changes such as a new condition or a change in your medication. Always keep a copy of you claims form just in case it gets lost in the post and for when you get a review.
2) You can write no change in each box but it is something we would not recommend, we would advise you to treat the form as a new claim.
When you go to the Jobcentre to prove your identity, you should also be asked to sign your claimant commitment.

Thank you Gary.
I was told over the phone all they need (as I uploaded everything) is to see my bank card and an official letter with my name and address on.
I will not be happy with them if whoever sees me says they need more as I double checked on the phone what I was bringing is what they need.
I definitely will get an extension for filling the PIP for in.
I've found the copy I asked for from my last medical and allthough it isn't a copy of my answers it should help.
As it shows what I scored points on and has explanations for why I didn't score in boxes.
I'll be photo copying what I write this time as I've had enough of keep writing it all out.
I have just learned we're aloud to put no change and put answers on another piece of paper, where we're aloud to type answers out.
I can use voice to text for that.
So, I may find filling this one in a bit easier as all the writing in the past ones has taken me weeks.
What really concerns me is from reading my last review it seems they think if a Dr lowers our pain meds it means we're in less pain.
It really does not with me.
My Dr has been pulling me off my pain meds now for months telling me no one should be on these meds permanently.
Threatening to take me off them if I don't wean off them.
I've been on pain meds around 15 years now.
But I'm hearing from other people all Drs are trying to get everyone off these meds they put us on.
So, I guess I will have to state in my PIP review form that just because my meds have been redused it does not mean my disabilities and pain has got better.
The Drs are saying I've been on the meds that long they no longer work and are addictive.
They knew they were addictive 15 years ago.
It seems to me Drs have been wanting to reduce all meds since Brexit.
I just don't want my pain meds being reduced to go against me.

Hi Ianeif2
Thank you for your post, keep a copy of your completed form as it does reduce the stress when it comes for review time, you just have to amend your original form with new conditions or change of medication.
I agree with you, that you need to spell out why the meds are being reduced and any adverse effects they have, has your Dr referred you to the pain clinic?.

My Dr did refer me to the pain clinic but it was a fair distance away and I've had a very bad year with stress after being served a section 21 so I couldn't dace it and missed my appointment.
I'll get back in touch with my Dr.
I also missed an appointment for another scan on my back because I couldn't face that.
My anxiety has been through the roof all year worrying about either being made homeless or having to pay £700 pcm for my rent if I couldn't find a council flat before the rent rise.
