Working Hours was created by MAHAD
Hi

Me and my partner received UC migration letter early this month. My partner is on ESA, She suffer from mental health (sycosis), chronic back pain(herniated disc) and vertigo(episodes of dizziness). I provide support, assistance and care to my partner,
while I am working 16 hours a week. we receive ESA payment and housing benefit only.

if we migrate to universal credit do I need to increase my working hours from 16 Hours.?

Regards

Hi MAHAD

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.

We cannot answer your question as we do not know your circumstances such as do you claim carers allowance.

UC is different from ESA, there is no 16 hr rule with UC, depending on your circumstances UC has a work allowance and a Earnings Taper, we would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk. they will be able to take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
