Hi,

So i finally submitted my claim for UC, I was in the esa support group for over 10 yrs, they said they`d ring to confirm my identity , but today I got "Prepare for and attend your standard identity appointment in a jobcentre" I suppose i`m sort of relieved to get it out the way , its in a few days time, but I`m concerned they will ask me health related questions, can i decline to answer and say "i dont have to answer that as i`m migrating from esa, and was told I wouldnt need a medical assesment"

I`m worried, and going through any paperwork I can find, that will help prove my ID ,i have no passport, or driving license.... i suppose i`m concerned there will be stairs to climb, and they`ll then use that against me and say i can walk further than i said i could etc, i know some of their sneaky tricks..... i have read the esa>uc migration documents.......

Hi Stucatz

Please try not to worry about this. They won't be asking you health questions and no one is going to be thinking about whether you used some stairs at the job centre. It is all about confirming your identity. There are other documents that you can provide even if you don't have a photo id. Things like a birth certificate, some sort of bill etc.
