PIP v LCWRA was created by Rox
Hi...

I am currently receiving LCWRA benefits and I was speaking to a friend who is on PIP, she believes that if I am on LCWRA then I should be eligible for PIP.

I was wondering if you think it would be advisable to apply for this or whether I might be 'safer' staying with my current benefits.

My benefits are also coming up for review soon, I was wondering if you have any advice on preparing for the review? This is my first year on them.

thank you for your

Rox:)

Hi Rox

The answer to your question is, not necessarily. PIP and LCWRA have different criteria although a few questions do cross over. One of our Mods a few years ago did a spreadsheet, it can be found under the Guides tab above then click on PIP where you will find link to UC/ESA and PIP overlap.

You can apply for LCWRA if you are claiming Universal Credit., as we do not know what benefits you are receiving we would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk.

In regards to your review, we would advise you to treat the review as if it was a new claim, if you kept a copy of your original claim, use it as a template when filling out a review form, use extra paper if you need it, don't forget to number your pages.
