hi, i am in receipt of contribution based only esa and in the support group, i know things can change, buti read a post earlier that has got me confused, i thought my esa wouldn't change should i be moved to universal credit? i also receive pip enhanced on both components, i googled the question, and got the following result, has it changed?

No, contribution-based ESA is generally not taken away when moving to Universal Credit. If you're receiving contribution-based ESA, you will continue to receive it alongside your Universal Credit payments. In fact, contribution-based ESA is not affected by Universal Credit, and you will not be asked to migrate to Universal Credit based solely on your contribution-based ESA

many thanks

Hi freefee

It is not as simple as that. It depends on whether you or your partner receive any Legacy Benefits. If you don't then you won't get a Managed Migration letter and your ESA won't be converted to New Style ESA ( which is basically the same as Conts ESA )

i recieve the old style esa, no other claims in the house and i don't claim for anyone else, wife is due to leave me end of the month, have informed esa and told no need to report it as i only claim for myself, pip said sam, but that may be less straightforward as i will be living on my own
