Hi I have been rejected for PIP with 0 points although the telephone assessment report PA4 done by a functional nurse indicated enhanced rate for both daily living and mobility. How come this was completely ignored by DWP decision maker? Does anyone have a similar experience or advice? Should I do an MR? What new evidence can I include?
The decision makers don't always agree with the health professionals, but it is unusual to have such a difference in points. There should usually be a hint to explain the difference.
I can't tell you whether you should do an MR - that is something you have to decide for yourself - but if you scored nothing and if you can mentally cope with putting in an MR, you don't have anything to lose. Have a close look at the decision letter and try to see why it is so different from what the assessor thought. The decision maker is a non-medical person - so I would be fighting on that front. Have a good look through the Guide to PIP Appeals - which has the information for an MR and also take a look at How to Challenge a Medical Report - (which may give you some extra ideas on what to say) benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
