Hi, I did not get help from citizens advice, though I wish I had now.
It’s so confusing and not getting a letter from ESA has not helped matters.
The calculations are there now, the ones I’ve posted to you. I feel it’s slightly short but hey! Who knows?
The ESA phone call I made this morning was more helpful than UC journal.
They have told me it’ll be £281 every x2 weeks from them. So with £433 off UC it adds up to £995.
They say my entitlement is £1060.15 ?
I guess I’m wrong in my calculation or are they?

Hi Ms.Basset
These figures are correct
Standard all. £400.14
Limited cap £423.27
Money deducted for contributions based is - £609.05
I cannot calculate your Transitional Protection without knowing your Total Legacy Amount and your UC Indicative Amount.
You say you have deductions for savings over £6000.
Also you will need to inform Council Tax that you have moved to UC.

Hi Ms.Basset
Do your savings vary in amount? If so you could find the deductions under the UC savings tariff vary.

Hi, I asked to speak with a team manager as the person dealing with me was far too nonchalant in responding to me.
It became apparent that ESA had neglected to inform me of the changes of them still paying a contribution amount.
I queried the savings as I have a fixed amount isa £5K for emergencies with home etc.(get a tiny amount of interest which amounts to nothing).
The bank that I get my benefit into goes up and down over the month due to bills etc and this is the one that takes me over the £6k threshold.

Hi Ms.Basset
When capital/savings goes over £6000 then your Benefit is reduced according to the Tariff income rules.
The government is proposing to link the banks to the DWP automated information system which will flag when savings go about £6000. The bad news is that they may use this as a reason for a Compliance interview at the Jobcentre.
