Managed Migration from ESA to UC was created by Petlover
Can someone give me some advice please. I filled in my claim for managed migration to UC. I’ve had two letters today stating that I’ve been paid my last ESA on 23rd April which is money till 7th May. My rent has also been paid until 7th May.
My UC will be paid on 30th May. Will they only pay me from 7th May to 30th May and then not pay me till 30th June.?
Essentially, I will have just over 3 weeks money to last me till 30th June. How’s am I supposed to survive for 8 weeks on 3 weeks money. Even if it’s a full month, I will still be 3 weeks short.
Can someone please advise

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Petlover
You will get a full months UC at the end of every Assessment Period. As a lot of Forum members have surprisingly found you may continue to get fortnightly payments of New Style ESA. You will need to phone the ESA section to check on that.
If you are short of funds you can request a UC Advance via your UC account. But you have to do this in your first Assessment Period.
