Dreaded brown letter(terrified) was created by Fiona
Hi All , I received the dreaded brown letter today with pip AR1
I'm absolutely terrified,it's totally different from the last 1 in Dec 23 the whole layout is not giving me any space to explain, I have more illnesses than space ,only 6 medication spaces and the problem I have is do I write part in the form then add extra paper sheets or just write the whole lot on the paper as.I'm scared the extra won't be taken notice of,if in 2 separate spaces and i find it difficult to explain as most of my illnesses are fluctuating but it's a bit like dominoes as it sets off the next how to explain I'm constantly ill with chronic pain the assessors seem to disregard most fluctuating illnesses but if I'm constantly ill what difference does it mean if multiple illnesses are the issue the last time they tried to say as My medication hadn't been increased for over a year I explained you can only take so much, as lithium is toxic and chronic pain they don't like to increase addictive meds and never seeing the same person.then unable to put down name of specialists they didn't even understand that arthritis changes your joints everything was disregarded they even tried to say a bipolar depressive state after a high was like the blues. This is my 4th assessment and you would think it would get easier but it doesn't and makes me paranoid it's only day 1 and I'm already in a state. Why make the form smaller when it was always impossible to get everything down on paper. Sorry it's such a long post but thanks for reading it I really appreciate any advise as each time I mess up my husband was with me for the last phone assessment and was giving me pre-written notes to help me get the explanation over but the assessors said I was able to remember a complicated medical history(about me) and had no 1 with me the only time I got a true-ish assessment was when I had home visit and they couldn't deny how I was. Thanks for any advise

Hi Fiona
Follow the Guide to PIP Claims & Reviews and do one question at a time. (pages 118 onwards)
You can add as many additional sheets as you need. It's up to you whether you write part of your answer on the form and then continue it on a separate piece of paper or whether you write it all on additional sheets. It's a matter of choice. The important thing is to make sure the additional sheets are clearly marked with a page number, your name and national insurance number and make it clear which question you're answering.
Try not to be fixated on what happened previously. I know that is easier said than done, but assessors offer opinions and it's common for claimants not to agree with them. This is a new review, so please focus on completing this form and sharing your current status, as well as any issues that have worsened since your last review.
