I asked my MP to sign the petition. This was his response-
As I mentioned in my previous correspondence, I firmly believe the Government has a duty to ensure that the most vulnerable in our society can live with the dignity they deserve. That said, I am reluctant to add my signature to this petition. I believe it is important to avoid aligning myself with specific causes at the expense of others, as this could unintentionally signal bias.
However, I will continue to follow the petition’s progress with interest and will make every effort to attend any related drop-in events in Parliament.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.
Don’t really understand his response? Doesn’t want to make himself look like he is supporting the disabled to be involved in fair reforms to the benefits system. His response seems non committal. Don’t really understand what he thinks.

Doh! This MP does not seem to understand that s/he is SUPPOSED to support "causes" ie policies that support their constituents or at least have an argument against doing so, rather than this fence-sitting.

Tried to sign this, but apparently I've signed it already! Hardly surprising, as it's definitely one I wanted to sign. I've put a link to it on BlueSky, so I hope that helps. Best wishes from sunny Liverpool, Maggie

Took me a while to find the petition and I've now signed it.
I'm concerned that there's so little visibility / publicity for this petition.
At time of writing there are only 8,361 signatures
At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition
At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament

PLEASE SIGN IT AND SHARE IT
There's a link to share it on FB and Email
PS: Moderators: Please can you make this petition more public somehow and urge people to sign it??

Hi JoELA
