Hi mel0308 and ms2608,
There isn't much information regarding the online process for AA.
Were either of you successful with what appears to be a very basic form?
Having now gone through the application do you think it's better to fill in the paper form?
I'm worried it will rely solely on information requested by the DWP from my aunt's GP which is likely to be unhelpful.
Many thanks.

Hi - I haven't heard anything yet (submitted the form 4 weeks ago), so not expecting any news this side of Christmas. If I am unsuccessful I will request a Mandatory Reconsideration, where I can give them more in depth information. I do wonder if completing the original, longer version of the form, would have been a better option.
I will post on here as soon as I know anything. Good luck with your Aunt's application.

I was successful with my online AA application. I noticed that a payment had gone into my bank account, and then received the letter about a week later. I was previously turned down via the paper form, although the social prescriber at my GP's practice completed this on my behalf, and, on reflection, I don't think that she put the emphasis on personal care needs.
The online form was certainly less stressful. I hope that you are successful for you aunt.

Many thanks for your response. I’ve looked at the online form and I think it would be risky for my aunt as she has so little evidence beyond her actual diagnoses and treatments.
I’m very glad to hear you were successful. It must be a weight off your mind. It was when I received PIP as it helped me reduce my work hours and be more productive in my role.
Best wishes to you.
