Carers Allowance and HMRC was created by bikerdave5
I receive PIP and my partner receives CA. She is a non tax payer even with the CA. Does she have to notify HMRC about this additional income? How? We have tried online and cannot see how. Their Helpline chatbot is useless. Long waits on phone helpline. Any help appreciated

Do you mean your PIP award?

On the assumption that you do then there are two points to be aware of.

- The PIP income is yours, not your partners
- PIP is not liable to tax

So no, they do not have to inform HMRC,

My query is as described. If you get CA do you need to notify HMRC and if so , How? The HMRC helpline chat bot is unhelpful

The DWP should have informed HMRC already but you cannot rely on this.

Apart from the helpline the only other way I can suggest is writing to HMRC. Make sure the person's National Insurance Number is included and I would recommend it being sent using a Tracked post so they have proof of delivery.
