Three checks before DLA Forms posted out was created by oldman
After spreaking to dwp about my new claim and requesting the forms I was informed that the dla forms are sent out after 3 checks. They couldn't tell me what the checks are. Informed that subject to checks dla application could then go ahead. What are these checks?

Hi om,
Is this a totally fresh claim for DLA ?
If so, new claims for DLA were not accepted after April 8 2013 in some parts of The NW and NE of England ?
PIP replaced fresh claims for DLA nationally, from 10/06/13

The three tests are;
1. Age
- Under 16 (DLA)
- 16-65 (PIP)
- over 65 (AA)
2. Qualifying period
DLA & AA - Must have the requirement for 3 months and expected to have it for a further 6 months
PIP - Must have requirement for 3 months and expected to have it for a further 9 months
3. Terminal illness
Must be an expectation of death within six months, usually requires a DS1500
