WCA

Hi can someone help me I was put in the support group 2 years ago as I have severe emphysema without a Medical I sent in consultants letters discharge papers from hospital after suffering 2 bouts of Pneamonia. (Sorry about the spelling) In September I was sent a WCA which I filled in and sent back by the end of September. I have not heard anything since and since sending this back I have been put on 2 litres of Oxygen per day. I get HRM & LRC what I don't understand is I am due to retire in June next year should I let someone know I am now on Oxygen or just wait to see what happens I have had HRM for 9 years but only LRC since February after applying 3 times for the care component cannot not understand why someone so near retiring would be called for a WCA how long does it take to see if you need a Medical I don't have Atos's phone number to inform them should I just wait to hear from them ?????

ATOS will have sent out the new ESA50 at the request of DWP. When reassessments are scheduled it doesn't seem that anyone looks to see when the claimant will reach State Retirement Age1

ATOs and DWP are very behind at the moment, it is not unusual to hear of claimants waiting for some months before they hear anything else after submitting their ESA50.

If the increased oxygen indicates a change in your circumstances then you should let both ATOS and DWP know, in writing.

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

Your ESA will continue to be paid until a new decision is made, so you do not have to do anything else. Indeed, if I was in your position I think I would just keep my head down and hope that the process took me beyond my State Retirement Age!
