WFI WRAG Placement 1st Interview.Advice needed.

Over the phone the assigned Work Advisor has refused to deal over the phone
with the preliminary interview.
They have cited Sanctions if a Face 2 Face is not engaged in.
What I need to get your opinion on are the validity of attempts by the advisor
to "sweet talk"me into their office "just for an hours'interview"
after which they imply that there will be little else following.
I am highly sceptical naturally about this and when pinned down they will not stick to it.
Now the interview has been re-scheduled once again for a few weeks.
After which Sanctions will be imposed they warned.
Can I really believe that its just a question of one hours interview and then no further
WFIs,Work Placements,Medical WFis etc as we constantly hear about and if I dont think I can attend these am I fool to go along with this "just one hour"line?
What are the chances its for real?
Many Thanks

I am afraid that your advisor is not obliged to allow you a phone based WFI, although we certainly know of many claimants where this has been allowed, even for the first appointment.
There is no way for us to know what the advisor will consider in the long term, also, it is not unusual for advisor to be moved from one claimant to another, so even if this one decides that you do not require further action, it is not impossible that another advisor will take a different view.
Your attending will set a precedent, unless you are able to subsequently show that your health or mental health was significantly affect by your doing so.

I have difficulties attending WFIs, several of them, Adviser is fully aware of these problems yet I have to attend for WFIs, I was told about sanctions and that I have to comply. I have not been told of telephone interviews and only realised that was a possiblity from this site however as yet it appears not to be an option for me

As Gordon said to James, above, phone interviews are totally at the discretion of the JobCentre adviser, the claimant has no right to insist upon this

Hi Mrs Hurtyback
I totally agree with what Gordon has said. I apologise if it came across otherwise I was really trying to explain that although I have difficulties it is my adviser who makes the decision and I have no option but to accept it.
