PIP RESULT was created by teddybear581
I previously posted about applying for PIP for the first time, unfortunately i can't find the post to update.
I suffer from agoraphobia, panic attacks depression and have some stiffness in my back and knees. I have been awarded higher rate care, which I am over the moon about as my 365 days on ESA ends next week!
I was awarded 4 points in the mobility as I was assessed as having to be prompted to go out. I actually cannot go out without someone with me due to my agoraphobia and haven't been out by myself for about 15 years so I had hoped that the descriptor for that would be applied, giving me lower rate mobility and am wondering if this descriptor is purlely for physical disabilities as opposed to mental health.?
Anyway ,as I said ,I am very happy. Hopefully more decisions will start to come through.
Good luck

Congratulations on the award, I think you are the third person on the forum to be awarded PIP.

If you have no physical problems you would need to meet the criteria for Mobility question 1.f to have been awarded the Enhanced rate and at least 1.c for the Standard rate.

a. Can plan and follow the route of a journey unaided. 0 points.
b. Needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming
psychological distress to the claimant. 4 points.
c. Cannot plan the route of a journey. 8 points.
d. Cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person, assistance dog or orientation aid. 10 points.
e. Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 10 points.
f. Cannot follow the route of a familiar journey without another person, an assistance dog or an orientation aid. 12 points..
