Advice needed please? I attended an atos assessment last week and despite me telling them the problems i have with walking/standing (mobility probs) waiting (anxiety/panic attacks) and being near toilets, etc (incontinence probs) was left waiting 30 mins to go in (they said this was how long it took to set up recording equipment) my mediacl lasted 2 hrs and 20 mins, leaving me in a terrible state afterwards of anxiety, pain, discomfort and sheer exhaustion. I also had to leave my relative waiting outside in the car for me all this time with children.

That was over a week ago and i've heard nothing since and worried sick, has anyone else had this kind of experience? Can i put in a complaint? I wanted to just leave but was frightened they might ask me to go back again and i'd worked myself up so much i just wanted it over and done with.

An Assessment of this length of time is extremely unusual, they normally take less than an hour.

I am afraid a Decision on your claim could take some time, were the system running smoothly I would not expect you to hear for 3-4 weeks after the assessment, with the delays we are experiencing it could be 3-4 months.

I am not really in a position to advise on whether you should make a complaint or not, but if you do the following has information on what to do.

Complaining to ATOS Healthcare
