Move from DLA to PIP

I have been thinking about what happens when my DLA award is due for renewal in May 2015. I was awarded HRM and HRC for two years. Will I be required to apply for PiP at reassessment and if so when would this be likely? Under what circumstances are folks claiming DLA, just transferred to PiP, is it those with lifetime awards.
On another note, I have now been successful at claiming my occupational pension for ill health, which is a worry solved.
It would be nice to relax for a while and not have to constantly worry about finances and assessments!
Thanks

You should expect to be invited, there is no requirement for claimants to apply for PIP (this does not mean that your DLA will not still be closed), about 20 weeks in advance of your current DLA award coming up for renewal.
There are no automatic transfers from DLA to PIP, everybody will be re-assessed, although this does not mean that everybody will require a face to face assessment and it is possible that some claimants will be transferred without the need for a PIP questionnaire to be issued, the decision being made on the information that the DWP already have.

Those under 16 and over 65 years at that date will remain on DLA and according to the DWP there are no plans to move them off DLA.
