Yes I think I remember this they will pay your NI credits only.Only drawback is that in order to get there you still have to go through a year of WRAG without throwing in the towel and closing your claim and as you say you could still be subject to action.
I think id rather not have the credits.
Only recently I had to make 6 seperate phone calls to contact The local Job Centre.
The Advisor was on a day off.
Unreachable.
It took going through heavily engaged national phone lines with waits on hold of up to 15-20 minutes each one,
The stand in advisor I eventually got through to did not sound particularly sympathetic
And this is before Ive even done the first WRAG interview!
The suggestion of an over the phone consultation was rejected as far as I recall.
This was last week.
I succeeded in getting the Interview re scheduled
Till before Christmas.
I dont want a year of this so I will have to break the news (if I can get through as a courtesy)
that they'd better institute indefinite sanctions ASAP and do their worst.
I think its a price worth paying than having the traumatic experience
of trying to "find me work".

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

To be clear, sanctions can only be applied after there has been a failure to participate in Work Related Activity, they can only be applied by a Decision Maker, not the advisor, and only after the claimant has been asked to explain why they failed to participate.

My thanks to Gordon for answering this query while I was away
James, did that fully answer your question? If not, please let me know and I will try to explain what I meant.

FAO Mrs Hurtyback. In response yes that was all very helpful and helped clarify many issues.
Its a bit soon to know the position at the end of next year as there could be new rules
etc that current Govt has been hinting at but we will wait now to see how it goes.
Time is on the Claimants Side,The Govt and anyone and anything dependent on The Govt.
is in a bit of a hole.
Oh when I mentioned foodbanks I was thinking more they are in opposition to policy
as they get Claimants out of a mess and I do not think you have to be on Benefits to use them?
Whats I was saying was that this could put Benefit dependency out of business as Claimants could eat and no longer have to apply for Benefit consequently I dont think the Govt would like this as they lose control over the unemployed?
Thanks Mrs Hurtyback no need for further elaboration at this stage.
