Having no diagnosis will not help your appeal, but there are things you can do, for example;
- Ask you GP for a letter or report detailing the problems you have been having.
- Get a copy of your medical records, these will show how often you have met with your GP and what was discussed, this can go towards showing that you have an on-going problem.
- Ask friends and relatives who see you frequently to right a statement as to the problems you are having.

I agree with Gordon's post, but it's not always necessary to have a diagnosis. You don't state what benefit you're claiming if it's ESA, then one of the other moderators will help, as I now only deal with DLA & PIP.
I have MS, but at the time I was awarded DLA, I had no firm diagnosis, but was awarded DLA because of care & mobility needs.
Good luck.

Sorry Gordon and Alison.
I was on ESA - WG, but as I've been on it for the year it has now been stopped so husband has to support me, I have been having Ischemic Strokes ITA and possible MS but diagnoises for MS is still under consideration. I have been for nerve conducting testing but still have no results after 10.5 weeks!!!!
I have pain all over my body but my left side not working due to dumbness left leg and hand not working and constant falling over. and many other issues to many to mention, problems with incontenance all this I have sent proof in with my applications but still no ESA support.
I have a huge complain in progress with Local Hospital about the Neurology deptment, and my appeal is getting closer, so very desperate now, just want to feel better and on correct medication to get my life back ,but have to deal with all this disgraceful treatment from benefits. Help please.

I cannot advise about ESA, as I now only advise on DLA & PIP; but as an MS sufferer since 1986, if MS is a possibility then you should have an MRI scan of your central nervous system, i.e. brain, and spinal cord.
If you are not happy with the treatment from your local NHS Trust, you should write a letter of complaint to the Chief Executive. Also, see your GP and ask for a 2nd opinion from another Neurologist which you have a right to.
When I was dx'd with MS there were no MRI scans, only CT scans which showed nothing.
Whilst a diagnosis of MS is based on clinical findings, an MRI is the definitive test these days where MS is suspected.
Good luck.
