Welfare News Service to close. was created by Jim Allison BSc, Inst LE, MBIM; MA (Consumer Protection & Social Welfare Law)
As I cannot post new topics in News, it gives me no pleasure to report this.
From the Editor:
It is with a grave heart that I must announce that I will be ending my involvement with the Welfare News Service with immediate effect.
Over the past months we have gone from strength to strength to become one of the UK’s most respected providers and reporters of welfare related news and opinion.
This hasn’t come without great cost to my own personal health and wellbeing, as well as having a damaging toll on my personal life and that of my family.
Running the Welfare News Service is a 365 days per year, 16 hours per day commitment which has now become impossible to continue on my part and so I must now end my involvement.
Over the next few weeks our website will be phased out and ultimately go offline. So as not to put a death-nail into the Welfare News Service completely I will be seeking a few committed and hardworking individuals with the capacity, connections and willingness to take control over both our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Sadly it will not be possible to maintain this website under its current form as our website address and domain is owned by myself. It is feasible than any future owner and editor of the Welfare News Service many create a new website under a similar, if slightly different name.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our readers and supporters for your continued support shown to both myself and the Welfare News Service as a whole.
It is now my personal objective to create and write an occasional political blog containing my own views and opinions about a wide range of political topics. I hope to see you there.
Best wishes,
Mr Steven Preece
Editor & Founder.

This will be a service that many WRO's including myself will miss very much, as I'm sure moderators and members will do also.

Hi
This is such a shame, I only discovered this website last week but found it very informative and useful. But when you see that Steve Preece is devoting 16 hours a day to it you can understand what a toll it must be taking on his health.
Maintaining a website can be full time for many but add to that the difficulties of being sick and disabled then you can appreciate how tough it must be.Perhaps welfare news may emerge in a different format if someone else is willing to take it over. Best wishes and thanks to Steve for his valuable work and let's hope he is feeling better soon.

No, the Welfare News Service is nothing to do with B&W.

Absolutely true, but yet another website for chronically sick/disabled people goes under which is not good news.
