IB to ESA claim was created by mistake
Hi Everyone
Just writing this on behalf of my wife as she struggles with keying due to Arthritis.
We returned her claim form to ATOS to be transferred from IB to ESA exactly three months ago today, along with a letter of support from our GP which confirmed all her problems. Around six weeks later I rang to see where the claim was at and was told they had written to our GP for further info, we felt there was nothing more the GP would be able to say other than what he had already written and my wife gave up all hope of her claim being successful and has been stressed out ever since.
This morning the dreaded brown envelope arrived and we were amazed when we read she has been placed in the support group, I have checked the form three time’s and it definitely says support group. We are still waiting to hear about her renewal for DLA but the letter today has taken some of the stress away, it was all beginning to have a serious effect on my wife's already failing health.
We both wanted to say a big “Thank You” to everyone at B&W for your hard work and the brilliant guides you produce, I doubt we would have been so successful without your help.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi 'mistake', that is good news! Thanks for letting us know and for your kind words about this site
If your wife would like to know when to expect reassessment she can phone DWP and ask for the 'prognosis' or write in for copies of the paperwork associated with her claim. This FAQ is valid, even though she did not have a 'medical'.
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

Thank you, we will do that as the letter never mentioned how long they had recommended before another assessment.

Thank you, we will do that as the letter never mentioned the time ATOS had recommended she has the allowance for.
