If they give say 2 weeks between the letter and the actual appointment then I can relax a little about that at least!
thanks

It may well be longer but the minimum is 7 days from the date of the letter, not when you receive it.

oh dear, that was my concern, thanks.
I guess connected, how much notice would I need to give to change the appointment, if anyone has any ideas.

There is no minimum period, but the more notice the better.
You have not mentioned the benefit, but the general rule is that you can only re-arrange the appointment once, a second time can lead to your claim being closed.

Although this has brought up a new concern

I was hoping I could say rearrange the appointment for a few weeks later on if they couldn't originally make it, I wonder if that is not allowed.
Sorry for all the silly questions, I'm just trying to keep my head above water just waiting for the letter, which has been months

Do not worry your questions are not silly

Our understanding is that ATOS will not book an appointment more than three weeks in advance, assuming that they have a slot open.
